There are some things in life that will always be up for a debate: religion, politics, white wine vs. red wine, vinegar-based or tomato…and so on and so forth. Which is better? Who is right? Who has the final say?
Upon entering our relationship, there was one thing Jamey and I realized we both (embarrassingly) stood for: one can never have too many t-shirts. Perhaps in our case, I should rephrase: There is such a thing as too many t-shirts.
Well, looks like that New Year’s resolution didn’t work out so well. And how are you, this happy July?
Jamey and I, like we know you have as well, are in the midst of a summer scorcher. While we’re discussing other facts of life, we might as well throw out that we’re also now homeowners, pet owners, washer and dryer owners – oh, and let’s not forget that we also now possess a dishwasher. Life is amazing.
The home is worth hundreds of entries already, and it’s a shame I haven’t been blogging any of it. Still, let’s go back to the most important part of the above section: we now own a pet, and her name is Scarlett.
Why, hello there, readers.
It’s been a little over two months since our last post, and Jamey and I have resolved that part of a Sunday afternoon activity should include a blog post per week. (Also, happy 3-month anniversary to us!) We hope to increase the quantity of blogging throughout a week, of course, since it really does set the tone and inspires us for our weekly flavors to consume to write about for you. In the meantime, one a week is the new goal.
We love eating, as you have witnessed, and we have been doing quite a lot of good eating over the past few months that we have not shared with you – much of which we have cooked ourselves! Just this morning, we dined on this for brunch:
Just two weekends ago, we ate this for dinner:
It may have only been a three-day work week for us, but as our first weekend back in Charleston as newlyweds, we felt the need to celebrate. Of course, our celebration is just our style:
Have a wonderful Friday night!
In order to serve our dear readers a little more assiduously than we have been lately, I’m writing a brief post to state that we’re home.
We’re home. Read more…
Jamey and I are sitting in the Atlanta airport, waiting to board for our honeymoon flight to Belize. Already everything is a blur; we were so exhausted last night that by the time we got to the Ritz downtown, all we could do is order a beer and a burger with room service. It might have been the perfect start to married life.
I will give you a detailed wedding post soon, especially once we have some pictures. We are counting on all of you to upload some to Facebook!
For now, though, I think it’s fair to say we couldn’t have asked for anything more. From the ceremony to the reception, everything was absolutely perfect and how we imagined.
Thank you to everyone for your blessings, well wishes, thoughts and support. We are completely overwhelmed by how much your love means to us, and that feeling certainly hit me the second I stepped foot in the church and saw all who were there to celebrate with us. I couldn’t hold back the tears even if I tried.
What a beautiful weekend and the start to a lifetime of happiness. Jamey and I will never be able to express just how amazing you all are and what your love means to us. Thank you again and again!
Jamey & Claire
Now, off to Belize!
It’s amazing how quickly the time has flown by.
Roughly ten months ago, Jamey proposed. We had no idea what this year had in store for us, and we had no idea the amount of time, effort, love and care that went into the wedding planning experience. Then again, I suppose you can’t really know until you’ve been through it and are doing a lot of it by yourself (with many wonderful family members’ assistance), then suddenly it’s the week of the wedding and it feels like there’s still so much to do.
